General information

Articles published in the WEP should be related to international economic and political relations, issues, and trends (economic, political, security, social or other context). The priority is given to current issues. The eligibility of the topics is determined by the Editorial Team, which decides about accepting contributions for a further review process.

Publication types

Following types of contributions are considered/accepted for publishing: articles, book reviews, and reports. Both original articles are subject of an independent and anonymous double-blind review procedure. They are reviewed by two selected reviewers.

  • An article must meet specific requirements and undergoes a review process. Previous research and an adequate scientific methodology are fundamental for an article. The aim of the article is to present new research findings based on new data or information or in applying an advanced methodological approach. The length of the article should range from 2500 to 4000 words. After the paper is received, the manuscript of an essay is assessed by an editor. If the paper is in line with the focus of the WEP, an anonymous version of the manuscript is forwarded to reviewers.
  • A book review introduces a selected present book or publication concerning the development of the world economy, international relations and diplomacy, economics, and European integration. The book review should outline the content of the reviewed publication (it should be clearly specified in the introduction), define its strengths and weaknesses, and identify the target groups of readers. A book review is 4-6 pages long.
  • A report should be related to a conference, expert seminar, or similar occasions. The report informs readers about the results of an event that took place and highlights issues for further research in the fields of Economics, International Relations, International Business, and European integration. The report is usually 2 to 4 pages long.
